Antler Bear by Raymond Tsalate

A creamy faced antler pudgy bear with fox turquoise inlaid eyes, burnished ears and pen shell inlaid snout carved by Ray Tsalate standing upright on its hind legs. The face is cream colored with the lower legs carved in a striking maroon/purple area. Ray has the bear's front paws carved behind its back with striking pen shell inlaid foot pads. This bear is a dreamer we think, looking up at the sky pensively. The Zuni believe the bear is endowed with curative powers, strength, adaptability and courage - powers that can influence both the spiritual and physical realm.
