Pakistani Marble Frog With Dragonfly by Enrike Leekya

A gray, brown sienna and grayish black veined Picasso marble frog with turquoise eyes inlaid to the raised eye sockets by Enrike Leekya. There are four turquoise dots inlaid at the top of each leg and one is inlaid at the center of the back. Enrike has created the frog's tongue out of cedar then he inlaid a jet and gold-lip dragonfly at the opposite end. This tongue will come with a small tube of epoxy should the new owner want to make the tongue addition permanent. There is an incised hole that the cedar tongue fits in. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain and are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land.
