Picasso Marble Mountain Lion by Dan Quam, Deceased

A striking gray, tan, brown and black veined Picasso marble mountain lion with rounded turquoise inlaid eyes carved by the now deceased Dan Quam; who died sadly in October of 2021 at the age of 72. Dan has incised fur on most of the lion's body - leaving the tip of the nose, mouth, the ears and claws smooth creating a striking contrast. The tail is carved curling upwards on the lion's left side. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
