Tijilite Buffalo by Tony Mackel

A caramel, peach, tan, gray and brown colored tijilite buffalo carved by Tony Mackel looking slightly to its right side. Tony had incised fur everywhere except on the buffalo's horns, snout, hooves and the tip of the raised tail. The buffalo is not a traditional subject for Zuni carvers though the medicine they bring is needed since the buffalo helps mankind to overcome all obstacles, builds emotional courage, brings abundance and initiates prayerfulness. Buffalo medicine teaches us that with positive energy at the forefront - we can overcome all obstacles. Artist: Tony Mackel (signed) Size: 1 in. wide x 2-7/8 in. long x 2 in. tall #61608
