A lovely detailed cream, muted yellow ocher and blackish gray spotted leopard marble eagle with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Herbert Him Jr. Herbert has incised different lines/patterns all over the eagle's body to depict the eagle's feathers. The wings are unfurled as this bird that symbolizes freedom takes flight. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - the eagle is the guardian and master of the sky - revered for its power, strength and dynamic grace. The eagle has incredible vision so eagle medicine is to look at the comprehensive whole picture of all situations. Artist: Herbert Him Jr. (signed) Size: 1-1/2 in. wide x 1-3/8 in. long x 1-3/4 in. tall #61541
