Antler Frog by Claudia Peina

A small cream and gray colored antler frog with jet inlaid smile and webbed feet carved by Claudia Peina looking up at the viewer with rounded pen shell inlaid eyes. Claudia has added six apple coral rounded dots to the top of the frog's back in the form of a triangle. For many artists, the dots on the frog's back symbolize rain. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain and are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Claudia Peina (signed) Size: 1-1/4 in. wide x 1-1/2 in. long x 1-1/16 in. tall #61506
