Serpentine Frog by Dinah Gasper

A lemon yellowish green serpentine frog carved by Dinah Gasper with turquoise inlaid eyes and nose holes. Dinah has incised a smile on the frog as well as the webbing on the feet. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain and are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Dinah Gasper (signed) Size: 3/4 in. wide x 1-5/8 in. long x 1 in. tall #61485
