White Marble Bird, Horned Owl by Abby Quam and Clayton Panteah

A fairly large white and gray streaked white marble owl carved by Abby Quam and Clayton Panteah leaning forwards as it looks to its right side with turquoise inlaid eyes. The couple has inlaid a turquoise arrow/heartline to the center of the bird's chest. The great horned owl is named for the tufts of feathers that sit on top of its head, called plumicorns. The Zuni believe the owl can see what others can not - they assist in helping to root out deception and they can get to the essence of true wisdom. It is common to feel spiritually activated when you see or hear an owl. They are messengers from the spirit realm - bringing wisdom, truth, and understanding of the mysteries of life.
