Antler Bird, Hummingbird by Raymond Tsalate

A fantastic antler hummingbird carved by Ray Tsalate with round pen shell inlaid eyes and beak. Carved by Ray Tsalate, this lovely was delivered to Sunshine Studio in December of 2023. The hummingbird's dark mother-of-pearl beak is poised an eighth inch above a surface - thanks to how Ray has carved the bird. Add the lapis pigment inlaid on the face and on the front portion of the nicely incised wings and you have one fabulous carving! The bird’s ability to travel freely above the earth, migrate over vast distances and occupy an astonishing array of terrestrial habitats make it a powerful symbol of freedom. The hummingbirds are revered by the Zuni - they consider them messengers who have the ability to stop time. Artist: Raymond Tsalate (signed) Size: 3/4 in. wide x 2 in. long x 7/8 in. tall #61395
