Antler Bird, Snow Owl by Raymond Tsalate

A fantastic cream and gray colored snow owl carved by Ray Tsalate with some help from Troy Sice. The snow owl has a fantastic face - with gold-lip and pen shell inlaid eyes and iridescent dark mother-of-pearl beak. Ray told us that Troy painstakingly incised the lines that radiate around the owl's eyes as well as the lines below the beak. There are burnished talons and on back - the wings create a heart shape that we love. A white owl represents change, transformation, and inner wisdom. Snowy white owls are very wise creatures. They have very deep spiritual meaning in many Indigenous cultures. A snow owl might come to you at night to give you a message about change, to tell you to trust your inner wisdom, or even as a message from your ancestors.
