A small red sienna and cream colored alabaster eagle with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Avery Calavaza - the son of Alvin Calavaza. Avery has carved the eagle to rest on its chest thanks to the outstretched right wing and tail. Avery has taken a job working in the Grand Canyon so we are no longer receiving his work so this small abstract eagle is a 'find'! The eagle is the prey God of the celestial heavens - he represents conscious enlightenment and clarity. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine. Artist: Avery Calavaza (signed) Size: 1-1/4 in. wide x 2-1/4 in. long x 3/4 in. tall #61147
