Dolomite Mountain Lion by Stewart Quandelacy

A yellow umber colored butterscotch dolomite mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes and healing heart line, carved by Stewart Quandelacy. The feet and legs are carved as two simplified forms and the tail is carved in the traditional Zuni style; wrapping lyrically over the back. There is one striking red sienna vein running diagonally downwards from the lion's left ear. For the Zuni, the lion - who is considered the guardian of the north - is the master hunter, revered for his intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
