A pipestone eagle with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by the now deceased Colin D. Weeka perched on a tree stump - allowing the bird's tail to lyrically flow downwards. A lovely enhancement is all the incised lines used to give the bird dimension - also this is a signature attribute for the artist, who sadly passed around March of 2022. The high points are a nice iron red color - the incised lines stand out because all the lows are a chalky white color. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - the eagle is the guardian and master of the sky - revered for its power, strength and dynamic grace. The eagle has incredible vision so eagle medicine is to look at the comprehensive whole picture of all situations. Artist: Colin D. Weeka, Deceased (signed) Size: 1-1/4 in. long x 3/4 in. wide x 1-3/4 in. tall #61050
