Black Marble mountain Lion by Curtis Garcia

A striking black marble mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes, carved in an animated pose with its tail raised by Curtis Garcia. A penetrating stare nicely defines its polished face, and the incised decorative motifs running down its sides are one of Curtis's signature touches; inspired by Pendelton blankets, we are told. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess & strength of will.
