An outstanding cream and porous gray colored antler frog carved by Ray Tsalate looking up at the viewer with big pen shell inlaid eyes - delivered to Sunshine Studio in February of 2021. Ray is quite the dot maker and he shows his skills on this spectacular frog! There are 39 coral, 6 turquoise, 4 lapis and 6 malachite dots - WOW! Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frog sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. The frog is a harbingers of rain thus they are honored in Zuni for rain is the essence of life. Artist: Raymond Tsalate (signed) Size: 1 in. long x 1 in. wide x 1-1/2 in. tall #60649
