A shimmering ivory and muted veridian green snail shell maiden figure creatively carved by Gloria Chattin, mounted to a small onyx base for added stability. There are two maidens with jet inlaid features - one above another strategically placed in the prominent ivory colored area. Both maidens have rounded inlaid dots placed under their chins - created from apple coral, turquoise, clam shell and lapis. _________________________ Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community. Artist: Gloria Chattin (signed) Size: 3-1/8 in. long x 2-1/4 in. wide x 5-5/8 in. tall #60385
