A shimmering gold-lip mother-of-pearl maiden double with jet features carved by Vickie Quandelacy. The maiden figure is inlaid to a small marble base with turquoise chips inlaid all around it. Vickie has carved a corn maiden on one side and a mother on the opposite side. Both maidens are given necklaces made from pen shell with turquoise dot embellishments. There are dragonflies and stars incised to the side of both the maidens' shawls along with pen shell, turquoise and lapis dots. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
