Argellite (Spotted Serpentine) Frogs by Jeff Shetima

An animated dark sage and soft phthalo green argellite, spotted serpentine dancing frog couple carved in the midst of doing a lift! The pair are carved from one stone, balance on a leaf and have been ingeniously created by Jeff Shetima - delivered to Sunshine Studio in February of 2023. Both fogs have gold-lip and pen shell eyes inlaid into the sunken eye sockets and micro mini heart lines inlaid to the centers of their backs - utilizing bits of apple coral, gold-lip, turquoise, jet and abalone to name most. We love this anthropomorphized duo and think you will too! Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain and are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Note: whomever buys this duo will receive an immediate 15% discount when checking out, due to price.
