Antler Frog by Robert Michael Weahkee - Zuni Fetish

A cream and gray frog with turquoise inlaid eyes that look up at the viewer - carved in low relief from an antler burr by Robert Michael Weahkee and picked up directly from the artist in April of 2023. Robert has ingeniously attached an offering bundle on top of the frog utilizing aquamarine blue, green peridot, citrine, amethyst and pink quartz - stones chosen, we believe; for their metaphysical qualities. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain and are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Robert Michael Weahkee (signed) Size: 3-1/4 in. long x 3 in. wide x 7/8 in. tall #60254 - Zuni Fetishes
