Antler Bird, Eagle by Robert Michael Weahkee - Zuni Fetish

A cream colored antler eagle carved by Robert Michael Weahkee in a new style - utilizing an antler burr to great effect! We picked this lovely up directly from the artist in late August of 2022. Robert has created the wings in an abstract fashion - they are created as a slightly raised semicircle with two burnished rings placed near the bird's neck and incised feathers burnished at each end. The offering bundle consists of five aquamarine, two citrine and four amber beads with one keshi pearl placed at the center. The bundle rests slightly over the turquoise, coral and jet inlaid arrow head. The eagle represents conscious enlightenment and clarity. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
