6″ x 3″ Dual Forged Steel Wheels – Model 2-50

These casters are made to order items and are NOT RETURNABLE. Lead Time 1 week or less. Dual Wheel casters have two wheels that are non-marking that safeguard the floors by extending the load over a larger area.  2-50 Dual wheel casters provide the least needed overall height with a greater load capacity than a caster with a single wheel.  The broad footprint required by two wheels enables dual wheel casters to span gaps and creases in the floor more effortlessly than a narrow singular wheel. *This Plate Caster Model 2-50 contains Forged Steel Wheels The Photo Displayed on CasterCity.com is the Dual 6”x3″ Caster Wheel. At Caster City, we specialize in providing heavy duty dual wheel caster solutions that distribute weight evenly across two wheels mounted side by side on a single swivel assembly. This design not only boosts stability and load capacity but also ensures smoother rolling on various surfaces, from smooth concrete floors to textured carpets. Ideal for industrial carts, furniture, and medical equipment, dual wheel casters minimize wear and tear while offering unparalleled durability—tailored to meet the needs of businesses seeking reliable, long-lasting performance without compromising on ease of use. One of the key advantages of dual wheel casters is their innovative differential action, which allows the two wheels to rotate independently at different speeds or even in opposite directions during turns. This mimics the functionality of a vehicle differential, enabling the inner wheel to slow down or reverse slightly while the outer wheel spins faster to cover more ground. As a result, scuffing and scrubbing; common issues with single-wheel designs that can damage floors and cause unsightly marks — are dramatically reduced. Our dual wheel models promote easier rolling motion, protecting your floor surfaces and extending the life of both the casters and your flooring, making them perfect for high-traffic environments like warehouses, hospitals, and offices where floor preservation is essential. Finally, dual wheel casters excel in reducing the forces required to change direction, making maneuvering heavy loads effortless and efficient. With less “wheel scrubbing” during pivots, you’ll experience lower pushing or pulling effort, which translates to reduced user strain and improved productivity in fast-paced settings. At Caster City, we manufacture these casters with premium polyurethane on iron center, forged steel wheels, ultra high capacity nylon wheels, and ductile steel wheels with a variety of bearing choices to suit any application. Bearing choices include, needle roller bearings, precision sealed ball bearings, or tapered roller bearings. More Info on Forged Steel Wheels: The Backbone of Heavy Duty Industrial Casters Forged steel industrial caster wheels excel in heavy-duty applications where standard floor-protective wheels fall short. These wheels are designed for extreme conditions, handling massive loads and harsh environments with ease. When your operation demands durability over floor preservation, forged steel wheels are the ideal choice. They are built to withstand intense stress without compromising performance, making them perfect for industries requiring robust solutions. Unlike softer wheels, these are typically used on steel plates, in metal channels, or as V-groove wheels on inverted angle iron tracks to prevent damage to factory floors. Their ability to endure tough conditions ensures reliable performance in the most demanding settings. These wheels boast exceptional ductility and tensile strength, allowing them to absorb shocks and impacts without breaking. Forged from pre-heated carbon steel billets through a drop-forging process, they offer uniform material thickness and superior load-bearing capacity. Available in widths of 2 inches, 3 inches, and 4 inches, and diameters ranging from 6 inches to 12 inches, they cater to a variety of industrial needs. Each wheel includes a lubrication fitting in the hub for easy maintenance and longevity. Additionally, Caster City equips these wheels with tapered roller bearings, counter-bored on both sides of the hub, to maximize capacity and service life. With load ratings determined solely by bearing capacity, these solid, spokeless wheels are virtually unbreakable in normal use. Forged steel wheels are engineered for extreme environments, capable of operating at temperatures up to 700°F, depending on the application. However, at continuous temperatures above 400°F, steel roller bearings and spanner bushings may begin to anneal, potentially affecting performance. For high-temperature applications, consult Caster City’s engineering team at 800-501-3808 for tailored guidance. While these wheels may damage most factory floors under heavy loads, their use on steel plating or specialized tracks ensures both functionality and floor protection. For heavy-duty tasks requiring unmatched strength and reliability, forged steel industrial caster wheels from Caster City are the go-to solution.
