4" Philodendron Silver Sword

The Philodendron Silver Sword, scientifically known as Philodendron hastatum, is a stunning tropical plant admired for its striking, silvery-blue leaves that possess a unique sword-like shape. This climbing species features elongated, arrow-shaped leaves with a glossy texture that can grow up to 12 inches in length. As the plant matures, its foliage becomes more pronounced and exhibits a beautiful silvery sheen that adds elegance to any indoor space. It’s an excellent choice for plant enthusiasts looking to enhance their collection with a visually captivating specimen. Care & Growing Condition: Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate low light but may grow more slowly and produce smaller leaves. Water: Water when the top few inches of soil feels dry. Be careful not to overwater; ensure proper drainage to avoid root rot. Humidity: Enjoys high humidity levels (50% or more). Consider using a humidifier or placing a pebble tray with water beneath the pot to increase moisture. Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix that retains moisture without becoming soggy. A mix designed for aroids or tropical plants is ideal. Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding during the fall and winter months. Pruning: Prune as needed to control size and shape. Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant outgrows its pot. Choose a pot that is one size larger with good drainage. Pest Management: Always check for pests such as spider mites or aphids, especially in dry conditions, and treat promptly if found. Propagation: Propagate through stem cuttings. Cut a stem section with at least a few leaves and place it in water or moist soil until roots develop.
