5CPQ6251 Cat Pump

Cat Pumps 5CPQ6251 Stainless Steel Quiet Triplex Plunger Pump (5.0 GPM, 2000 PSI)   For demanding continuous-duty industrial applications such as commercial reverse osmosis, desalination, and indoor fluid transfer where operating noise is a strict concern, structural integrity and quiet operation are paramount. The Cat Pumps 5CPQ6251 is a heavy-duty, 5-frame positive displacement triplex plunger pump engineered precisely for these rigorous environments. As a specialized "Q" series model, this pump is uniquely designed to reduce operating sound levels by up to 6 dBa (decibels), allowing equipment builders to supply quieter machinery without sacrificing high-pressure performance. To ensure maximum durability and chemical compatibility, it features a "wet end" constructed entirely of 316 stainless steel, encompassing both the manifold and the internal valve assemblies. This premium construction provides the essential longevity required when processing highly corrosive fluids that would quickly degrade standard brass components. Engineered to maximize overall performance and operational efficiency, this pump utilizes advanced solid ceramic plungers that provide a true, low-friction wear surface, significantly extending the lifespan of the standard NBR (Buna-N) seals and O-rings. The 5CPQ6251 operates efficiently at a standard maximum pump speed of 1725 RPM, delivering a reliable flow rate of 5.0 gallons per minute (GPM) at a robust applied test pressure of 2000 PSI. Designed with a 0.787-inch (20 mm) solid drive shaft, it offers versatile installation options, easily accommodating direct-drive configurations via a bell housing and flexible coupling, as well as clutch or standard belt-and-pulley setups. This allows operators to perfectly balance system flow rates while maintaining the continuous, low-pulsation power required for high-volume, noise-sensitive industrial fluid processing.   Specification Details Notes Manufacturer Cat Pumps Model Number 5CPQ6251 (5 Frame) Specialized "Q" Series (Quiet Model) Pump Type Triplex Plunger Pump Positive Displacement Manifold Material (Wet End) 316 Stainless Steel Exceptional corrosion resistance Valve Assembly Material 316 Stainless Steel Plunger Material Solid Ceramic Seal Material NBR (Buna-N) Standard Max Flow Rate 5.0 GPM (18.9 LPM) Pressure Range 100 - 2000 PSI Test Pressure (Applied) 2000 PSI (138 bar) Standard high-pressure operation Max Pump Speed 1725 RPM Noise Reduction Up to -6 dBa sound reduction Built-in quiet operation features Shaft Diameter 0.787" (20 mm) Solid Shaft Direct drive, clutch, or belt options Inlet Port Size 1/2" NPT(F) Dual ports available Discharge Port Size 3/8" NPT(F) Dual ports available Max Liquid Temp (NBR) 160°F (71°C) Crankcase Oil Capacity 17 oz (0.5 L) Weight 19.9 lbs (9 kg) Primary Applications Reverse Osmosis, Desalination, Indoor Industrial Noise-sensitive, corrosive fluid transfer
