Antler Frog by Troy Sice - Zuni Fetish

A large cream ccolored antler frog standing upright on its back legs and feet - in an anthropomorphic pose - looking up at the viewer with gold-lip and malachite inlaid eyes. Carved by Troy Sice - we are happy to present this very unique frog - with a preponderance of seventy three semi precious stones inlaid to its face, back and hind legs! The hand made stones Troy used to create the dots are gold-lip, jet, Mediterranean coral, Sleeping Beauty Mine turquoise, malachite, green serpentine, lapis and Japanese pink coral to name most. The top of the head is where Troy strategically placed the porous marrow gray area. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb, then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frog sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Frogs are harbingers of rain thus they are honored in Zuni for rain is the essence of life.
