A turquoise frog with a pronounced gray matrix carved by Kenric Laiwakete. The frog has coral eyes inlaid to the protruding eyes sockets and four coral dots inlaid to the center of the frog's back in the shape of a diamond. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb, then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frog sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Frogs are harbingers of rain thus they are honored in Zuni for rain is the essence of life. Artist: Kenric Laiwakete (signed) Size: 1-3/8 in. long x 1-1/8 in. wide x 7/8 in. tall #59713 - Zuni Fetishes
