Dolomite Sow With Piglets by Stanton Hannaweeke - Zuni Fetish

A muted pink, mauve, orange, red sienna and brown dolomite sow with her four piglets - all with turquoise inlaid eyes. This is a carving that Stanton Hannaweeke 'rocks' therein eking out a place in the Zuni carving community. We are not saying that Stanton has signed any of the 5 pigs. The mother sow has a rounded right side and a left side that is flat, allowing the four piglets to gain succor from the four turquoise dot/udders. If you don't want to display the five lovelies in this way, the mother stands perfectly, even though her legs are splayed outwards. The sow and her piglets are a symbol of innocence because the construct of mother and children is always associated with purity.
