Antler Bird, Eagle by Robert Michael Weahkee - Zuni Fetish

A large cream and gray antler eagle with the porous marrow area placed on the eagle's forehead. Carved by Robert Michael Weahkee and picked up in the summer of 2022, this bird has a big presence with his big head and piercing turquoise inlaid eyes. The bird was carved from an antler burr - that is how the eagle's feet were created. The eagle's wings are raised and leaning to the right side. The pièce de résistanceis the elaborate offering bundle worn around the neck - created with six aquamarine, two pink quartz, three pearl and two amethyst beads. All these stones have good energy emanating from within. The eagle is one of the six animals venerated by the Zuni. The eagle is the prey God of the celestial heavens - he represents conscious enlightenment and clarity. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
