Antler Turtle by Raymond Tsalate

A prominent gray antler shaman turtle with big pen shell inlaid eyes carved by Ray Tsalate - delivered to Sunshine Studio in May of 2022. Ray has carved the turtle in an anthropomorphic style standing upright on its hind legs holding a copper cane. There are three Sleeping Beauty Mine turquoise dots inlaid to the back legs. The turtle's shell is inlaid quite elaborately with incised scutes inlaid with a lapis paste. Finally there are thirty two large Mediterranean coral dots inlaid inside the thirty two scutes with one larger bead inlaid at the center of the turtle's shell like a pendant. We are happy to have received this fine wise man/turtle. Artist: Raymond Tsalate (signed) Size: 3-7/8 in. long x 1-1/2 in. wide x 3-1/4 in. tall #59443
