A striking green snail shell corn maiden double with jet inlaid features carved by Vickie Quandelacy and delivered to Sunshine Studio in July of 2022. Rhoda has inlaid the maiden to a marble base for added stability and she has imaginatively added turquoise chips to the hollowed out apex of the shell - suggesting water. Rhoda has added a fantastic penn shell, turquoise and coral necklace to the primary maiden that has a feather in her hair. There are jet inlaid stars and dragonflies added to the sides of the maidens. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy & the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
