Dolomite Frog by Dinah Gasper - Zuni Fetish

A large pink, yellow ocher, red sienna, orange and mauve veined dolomite frog with turquoise inlaid eyes in the protruding eye sockets and two turquoise inlaid nostril holes. Carved by Dinah Gasper - there is her signature name plate with initials inlaid to the frog's front right foot. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Dinah Gasper (signed) Size: 2-7/8 in. long x 2-3/4 in. wide x 1-3/4 in. tall #58632 - Zuni Fetishes
