A maroon, brown and golden ocher fossil jasper fox with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Peter Gasper, Jr with its tail up - a requirement we are told by the family to designate its species. Peter has added a lovely bundle to the top of the fox's back with sinew - featuring a gold-lip arrowhead, a turquoise and branch coral bead, surrounded by penn and melon shell heishi. The fox is often called “sly”- this quality may be attributed to the way this creature camouflages itself while silently observing the world around it. The fox reaches his goal with cunning, agility and clever tactics. Artist: Peter Gasper, Jr. (signed) Size: 2-5/8 in. long x 3/4 in. wide x 1-3/8 in. tall #58214 - Zuni Fetishes
