A sage and olive green veined/spotted serpentine frog carved by Rodney Laiwakete with turquoise eyes inlaid to the raised eye sockets. There are 3 turquoise, 6 lapis and 8 coral dots inlaid on top of the frog's back & legs. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain & are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Rodney Laiwakete (signed) Size: 2 in. long x 1-3/8 in. wide x 5/8 in. tall #57175
