An antler medicine bear with lapis inlaid eyes and burnished ear tips delivered to Sunshine Studio's front porch by Ray Tsalate in June of 2021. Ray has incised a heart line that extends to both sides by way of the mouth and he has inlaid it with a pipestone putty/paint. The medicine bear shape is thought to resemble a cave opening - depicting a bear coming out of hibernation & the pose is the bear sniffing the ground for healing herbs. The bear is endowed with curative powers, strength, adaptability & courage - powers that can influence both the spiritual & physical realm. Artist: Raymond Tsalate (signed) Size: 1-3/4 in. long x 1/2 in. wide x in. long x 1-1/4 in. tall #57169
