57 gravel is the most commonly used base gravel in our area. It consists of crushed limestone, blue stone, quartzite and limestone. The pieces are jagged and angular. When compacted, the pieces will allow air and water to flow through to the soil underneath, making this an ideal material to use as a base for hardscapes and drainage projects.
