Picasso Marble Frog by Peter Gasper, Jr.

A low-to-the-ground cream and brown veined Picasso marble frog with turquoise dots inlaid to the protruding eye sockets by Peter Gasper, Jr. Peter has added a fantastic offering bundle around the girth - featuring a gold-lip arrowhead, turquoise & coral beads and penn shell heishi. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain & are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Peter Gasper, Jr. (signed) Size: 2-1/4 in. long x 1-1/2 in. wide x 3/4 in. tall #56954
