Number Eight Mine Turquoise Frogs by Eric Martinez

A dark brown and lime green Number Eight Mine turquoise frog double with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Eric Martinez climbing an incline with the help of a mushroom. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain & are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Eric Martinez (signed) Size: 1-1/4 in. long x 1 in. wide x 1-5/8 in. tall #55462
