A muted periwinkle blue, cream and tan veined angelite figure depicting 7 small corn maidens - all with jet features & wearing turquoise pendants - carved by Chad Quandelacy, the son of Stewart Quandelacy. Chad always includes a large flower on his carvings - this one is incised on both sides, with a coral stamen. Maidens represent abundance, fertility and feminine energy & corn maidens in particular are honored in Zuni for nurturing the people - with the flesh of their bodies. Artist: Chad Quandelacy Size: 2 in. long x 7/8 in. wide x 2-1/8 in. tall #55354
