A soft sage green, cream, brown & black veined serpentine frog with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Peter Gasper, Jr - picked up on our July 2019 buying trip to Zuni. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the coming of rain & are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frog sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning. Artist: Peter Gasper, Jr. (signed) Size: 2-3/8 in. long x 1-3/8 in. wide x 1 in. tall #53963
