Antler Frog Shaman by Raymond Tsalate - Zuni Fetish

A cream antler carved frog shaman aka; medicine frog with spiny oyster and Sleeping Beauty turquoise eyes inlaid in the raised eye sockets and Number Eight Mine turquoise inlaid horns. This carving is straight from the imagination of Ray Tsalate; utilizing the base of the horn to create a 'furry' ruff around the face. On the face; there are pipestone and green serpentine ovals representing the spots on frogs and coral, lapis, and turquoise dots that represent the rain. The shaman frog wears a blanket with pipestone parrots inlaid on the back; representing the summer people. This is a show stopper people! This shaman demonstrates Ray's growing interest in Zuni pottery & how he's following his own muse.
