"Au Theatre" by Pierre Bonnard, Fr. (1867-1947)

Color Lithograph, 1899, B. 67, From the Album "Some Aspects of Life in Paris", ed. 100 plus proofs, of which a few were numbered and signed in pencil by Bonnard. The image measures 7-78 x 15-3/4, this impression is signed in pencil by the artist, on the full sheet as originally issued. There are varied degrees of staining from previous acidic mounts, and some short repaired edge tears in the large margins. While the margins are deeply toned, they are full, and within the image area the paper is bright and the colors amazingly fresh and unfaded, even the reds are vivid. It is unusual to find a pencil signed impression of this print, especially with the colors so fresh.
