(G) Groove Diameter: 1.232 +0.004 / -0.004 in. (W) Groove Width: 0.056 +0.004 / -0.000 in. Groove Depth: 0.040 in. Other Specs Approximate Weight per 1000: 6.800 lbs. (C) Clearance Diameter Expanded Over Shaft: 1.750 in. (C1) Clearance Diameter & Guaging Diameter Seated in Groove: 1.670 in. (Pg) Theoretical Thrust Load Capacity - Groove Yield: Notes: Yield Strength of Groove Material (Ys): 45,000 psi. Calculated using a safety factor (K) of 2 Equation: Pg = [ Cf * B * d * Ys * pi ] / K     = [ (1) * (1.312 in.) * (0.040 in.) * (45,000 psi) * 3.14 ] / 2 3,707 lbs. (Pr) Theoretical Thrust Load Capacity - Ring Shear: Notes: Ring Material1: Carbon Spring Steel (SAE 1060-1090). Shear Strength of Ring Material (Ss): 150,000 psi. Calculated using a safety factor (K) of 4 Equation: Pr = [ Cf * B * t * Ss * pi ] / K     = [ (1) * (1.312 in.) * (0.050 in.) * (150,000 psi) * 3.14 ] / 4 1Calculation assumes Carbon Steel for ring material, but Carbon Steel not necessarily available for all parts or sizes. 7,724 lbs.
