These are 5/16" X 11/16" long, or .312" X .690" brass binding posts. They are drilled 8-32 and need to be drilled for a positive connection. You drill them for a front or rear binding post. I leave them blank because these measurements vary from machine to machine. I do not drill and tap these for the contact screw or the positive connection on the rear binding post.
