How does using your digital camera on a Large Format 4x5 camera with all the tilts, swings and shifts sound? Fotodiox is happy to provide a way to make this reality! With this adapter you can mount your camera onto popular large format 4x5 view cameras (works on all 4x5 cameras with the standard with graflok back, such as: Cambo, Linhof, Calumet, Horseman, Omega, Toyo, Kodak). This adapter board mounts the backs in a vertical position and slides from side to side allowing more of the scene to be scanned and captured. The sliding adapter allows you to 'scan' the 4x5 image area so the multiple images can be stitched together using image editing software into a giant mega-file with amazing detail and clarity! The sliding board has incremental markings to help with positioning and a tension screw lock to keep the sliding board in place during shooting. A recessed lens board can help mitigate this focal flange distance discrepancy even further. • This adapter is designed primarily for 4x5 studio cameras that are much bigger units with plenty of space for all the tilt/shifts/swings. The smaller field cameras that fold down to a compact size (such as the Graflex Speed Graphics) don't have the space needed for the plate to mount and move, they usually have a recessed back and other things that interfere with the adapter plate mounting correctly. • This adapter positions the film plane further back from the original film plane, to compensate for this a lens of 120mm or longer is needed. A recessed lens board can help mitigate this focal flange distance discrepancy even further. • This is a manual adapter, so lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body (autofocus, AE metering, image stabilization, etc.) will be disrupted. • Some cameras need to be set a certain way to work with our adapters or you may get a message such as 'Error Lens Not Attached - Check lens'. Please check the support articles on the Fotodiox Knowledge Base for possible solutions on a variety of camera brands. • Set your exposure manually or meter using your camera's Aperture Priority (stop-down) mode. • To determine what the new 'Crop Factor' or 'Equivalent Focal Length' of the lens when used on your camera will be, please check the Fotodiox Knowledge Base article. • All pictures are for illustration purposes only.
