Ground Spike for Swooper Flags - 30 Inch Steel Base Stake Secure swooper flags in grass, dirt, or soft ground with this 30-inch steel ground spike. The stake drives 20 inches into ground for stable anchoring while the 10-inch vertical sleeve holds flag poles securely upright. Professional-grade construction prevents wobbling and ensures continuous outdoor display through wind and weather. Specifications Total length: 30 inches Ground insertion depth: 20 inches (buried portion) Vertical pole sleeve: 10 inches above ground Material: Heavy-duty steel construction Finish: Weather-resistant coating Compatibility: Fits standard 4-piece swooper flag pole sets Installation: Hammer or mallet required (push into soft ground) Ships: 1 ground spike per package Professional Steel Construction Heavy-duty steel withstands repeated installation and removal without bending or breaking. Weather-resistant coating prevents rust and corrosion during continuous outdoor exposure. Solid construction maintains pole stability through wind gusts and daily flag movement. 20-Inch Ground Penetration Deep 20-inch ground insertion creates secure anchoring that prevents tipping, leaning, or pole movement. Extended ground contact distributes forces and maintains vertical alignment through wind stress. Proper depth installation ensures professional appearance and safety. 10-Inch Vertical Sleeve The 10-inch above-ground sleeve holds flag poles vertically with snug fit that prevents wobbling while allowing easy installation and removal. Sleeve diameter accommodates standard 4-piece swooper pole sets from complete pole kits. Best Ground Conditions Ground spikes work best in: Grass lawns and turf areas Garden beds and landscaped areas Dirt and soil locations Field edges and property boundaries Temporary event locations with soft ground Not recommended for: Concrete, asphalt, gravel, or hard-packed surfaces (use fillable base or tire base instead). Installation Instructions Select location with soft ground (grass, dirt, or soil) Position ground spike at desired flag location Use hammer or mallet to drive spike into ground Continue until 20 inches penetrate ground (10-inch sleeve remains above) Insert assembled flag pole into vertical sleeve Verify pole stands vertical and secure Removal: Pull upward firmly or use leverage tool for extraction. Clean and store in dry location when not in use. Compatible Flag Systems This ground spike works with all swooper flag types: Swooper Flags What You'll Also Need: 4-Piece Pole Set - Fiberglass poles (required) Optional: Spinner clip for rotating attachment Portable and Reusable Ground spikes install and remove easily for temporary displays, seasonal promotions, or relocated flag positions. Reusable construction supports multiple installations across different locations and events without degradation. Weather-Resistant Finish Protective coating resists rust, corrosion, and weather damage through rain, snow, sun exposure, and temperature extremes from -20°F to 120°F. Long-term outdoor exposure maintains structural integrity and appearance. Common Uses Car dealership grass areas and property edges Temporary event locations and festivals Seasonal promotional displays Property boundary flag placement Landscaped areas and garden beds Field events and outdoor venues Advantages Over Other Base Types Ground Spike vs Fillable Base: Ground spike: Lower cost, faster setup, grass/dirt only Fillable base: Works on any surface, more stable in high wind, portable Ground Spike vs Tire Base: Ground spike: Grass/dirt installation, semi-permanent Tire base: Paved surfaces, fully portable, drive-over convenience Strategic Installation Position ground spike flags for maximum visibility: Property lines facing main roads and highways Grass medians and landscaped areas Building perimeter grass sections Lot entrance grass areas Corner locations with soft ground Maintenance and Care Inspect ground spike annually for rust, bending, or damage. Clean dirt and debris after removal. Store in dry location when not in use. Replace if steel shows significant corrosion or structural damage. Expect multi-year service life with proper care. Safety Considerations Mark ground spike locations in high-traffic areas. Ensure full 20-inch ground penetration for stability. Do not install near underground utilities (call 811 before digging). Remove during severe weather (thunderstorms, high winds over 40 mph) to prevent damage.
