4623 - MA-1 Flight Jacket - Indigo

Studio D’Artisan reimagines the classic MA-1 through the depth and character of Japanese indigo with the 4623 Indigo MA-1. Instead of persimmon tannins, this version uses a richly woven nylon outer dyed in deep indigo, paying homage to traditional Japanese dyeing methods and the brand’s long-standing commitment to natural color. The fabric develops a uniquely personal patina as it breaks in - highs, lows, and subtle tonal shifts that make each jacket increasingly one-of-a-kind. The silhouette stays faithful to the original MA-1: ribbed collar, cuffs, and hem for that structured military fit, a two-way zipper built for real wear, and the signature sleeve utility pocket that keeps the heritage intact. The liner is finished in a vintage-inspired contrast tone, echoing the golden hues found in early flight jackets and setting off the dark indigo shell beautifully. Side-entry hand pockets round out the functionality while keeping the overall profile clean and classic. By blending the unmistakable fading potential of Japanese indigo with a garment that shaped post-war aviation style, Studio D’Artisan delivers a standout piece rooted in tradition, durability, and lived-in beauty - a jacket that only gets better the longer it’s yours. 100% Nylon Shell 100% Poly Fill MA-1 Flight Jacket silhouette One-wash treatment Garment-dyed in Indigo Utility pocket on left sleeve SDA original metal zipper Woven pull tabs Polyester lining Ribbed collar, cuffs, and hem Hand warmer pockets with snap closures Made in Japan Tag Size Chest Shoulder Length Sleeve 38 24.0 19.3 23.6 26.4 40 25.2 20.1 23.8 26.6 42 25.6 20.9 24.6 27.4 44 26.8 21.3 24.8 28.0 46 27.2 21.9 25.2 28.9 A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance.  Fit Notes: This jacket has a roomy cut like a classic MA-1.
