Terra Ingognita - 210 - Copper Art Block

Each Houston Llew is carefully handmade using a series of intricate stencil techniques. From the beginning, Houston’s vision for his enameled artworks drew from the beauty of simplicity. He sought after an imagistic theme for his work rather than pursuing the abstract often seen in other enameled wall art. The image is just the beginning - each piece is paired with a quote around the sides to create an inspiring story through words and images in glass. "May your trails be crooked, winding, and dangerous, leading to the most amazing view." - Edward Abbey   Something endures - as though an invisible thread connects - throughout the writings of explorers. Edward Abbey, Amelia Earhart, Jack London, John Muir... their words are soaked in expansive mystery of the world. They paint breathtaking landscapes through imaginative sentences. Abbey's explorations leap from the page with a wildness that draws out the adventurous within us. Rather than shy away from danger, Abbey says that's the thrilling part of life. What makes the precipice so worth seeing is a combination of the work we go through to climb our mountains, and the heart-pounding moment where we stand on the precipice and live from great heights. There's a wilderness out there in the world we're meant to explore - it's true - but there also lies a wilderness within us, a daunting mountain range that only through self-exploration will we rise to those mountain tops. So go. Explore. And in your walks through the world, walk also through your self.   Release Date: August 1, 2017 Collection: Fall 2017 Made by hand with USA-sourced copper, glass enamel, and a custom wood box frame. 5¼" x 8½" x 1¾"- akin to the size of a novel.
