45-2431 | Genuine Thermo King® Microprocessor Controller mP-T

Description: A Microprocessor Controller 45-2431 is a small onboard computer that controls a specific system by constantly reading data, making decisions, and sending commands — all in real time while the vehicle is running. Part Number: 45-2431, 452431 Condition: New Manufacture/Brand: Thermo King Fits 45-2431 For: TS-200 / TS 200 TS-300 / TS 300 TS-500 / TS 500 TS-600 / TS 600 KD-II / KD2 KH-II / KH2 MD-II / MD 2 MD100 / MD 100 MD200 / MD 200 MD300 / MD 300 TD-II / TD 2 SR XDS Model: mP-T Purpose of using 45-2431: 1. Make real-time decisions A microprocessor controller can: Read sensor data many times per second Instantly decide the best action Example: choosing the perfect moment to shift gears or adjust fuel. 2. Control vehicle systems automatically Controllers operate systems like: Engine fuel & ignition Transmission shifting Braking (ABS) Airbags Climate control Lights and body features This removes guesswork and manual control. 3. Improve fuel efficiency By precisely controlling: Fuel injection timing Air-fuel ratio Gear selection The vehicle uses less fuel while maintaining performance. 4. Reduce emissions Controllers ensure: Clean combustion Proper catalytic converter operation Emissions stay within legal limits Modern emissions standards require microprocessor control. 5. Increase safety Controllers help with: ABS (prevent wheel lock-up) Traction & stability control Airbag deployment Power limiting to prevent damage They react faster than a human driver. 6. Protect vehicle components Controllers: Prevent over-revving Reduce harsh shifts Enter limp mode to avoid damage Monitor temperatures and pressures This helps parts last longer. 7. Provide diagnostics & alerts Controllers: Detect problems Store fault codes Turn on warning lights Help technicians diagnose issues faster 8. Allow systems to communicate Controllers talk to each other over networks (like CAN bus), so: Engine, transmission, and brakes work together Vehicle responds smoothly as one system   Signs of a Bad Microprocessor Controller 45-2431:   Warning lights Check Engine Light Transmission warning light ABS / traction control light Multiple warning lights coming on at once Performance problems Depending on the controller: Hard, delayed, or erratic shifting (TCM issue) Vehicle stuck in one gear or limp mode Poor acceleration Engine misfires or rough running Stalling or no-start condition  Electrical or communication issues Dashboard gauges stop working or act weird Power windows, locks, or lights work inconsistently (BCM) Warning messages like “Service Transmission” or “Reduced Power” Scan tool can’t communicate with one or more modules Computer-related symptoms Random problems that come and go Problems that don’t match any obvious mechanical failure Trouble codes that keep coming back even after repairs Multiple unrelated fault codes at the same time  Limp / fail-safe mode The controller may limit power or shifting to protect the vehicle: Low speed only Limited RPM Locked in a single gear   About the Manufacturer – Thermo King: Thermo King is a global leader in transport temperature control systems, specializing in refrigeration units for trucks, trailers, buses, rail cars, and shipping containers.
