40×42 Timber Frame Horse Barn Plan

Introducing our 40×42 Timber Frame Horse Barn—a perfect blend of old-world craftsmanship and modern functionality. Crafted in the classic Monitor Barn style, the barn features traditional mortise and tenon joinery that is both visually stunning and structurally sound. This barn is specifically designed to fit a true 40×42 foundation and is optimized to accommodate 6″ walls, ensuring durability and insulation. The first level of the barn, detailed in our comprehensive architectural drawings, boasts five spacious horse stalls and a well-appointed tack room. These designs provide an efficient, secure environment for both your horses and your equipment. Ascend to the second level, and you’ll find a generous storage loft that can also function as an office space or a rustic cabin. This upper floor allows for unparalleled versatility, tailoring the barn to your individual needs. Structural Dimensions: Plates stand at heights of 9′-6″ and 19′-7 1/16″, with the top of the frame at the center aisle reaching 24′-10 5/16″. This offers abundant vertical space, serving diverse functions from stabling to lofted amenities. Roofing Details: The barn features a 4:12 roof pitch on the shed wings and an 8:12 pitch on the center aisle, marrying aesthetics with functional drainage and snow shedding capabilities. Tailored for SIP Roofing: Notably, the barn is designed without overhangs, making it ideal for construction with Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) roofing for superior insulation and energy-efficiency. Our 40×42 Timber Frame Horse Barn stands as a testament to the harmonious union of style and practicality, setting a new standard for barn construction that will elevate any property.
