4 x 4" Black Satin Diffusion Filter

Designed with filmmakers in mind, this 4 x 4" Black Satin Diffusion Filter features a low density of 1/4 for an understated effect. It is designed to subtly soften the image and lower detail resolution, being often sought after by videographers who want to simulate the look of film footage while shooting on digital gear. The filter is made of water white glass and can be mounted on compatible square filter holders. This black satin model has a grittier look than a regular satin, and gently controls highlights while reducing overall image contrast. It can smooth out unwanted blemishes, wrinkles, or other fine details in a subject's face while keeping the general image in focus, making it ideal for portraiture work. Manufactured using ColorCore technology, each Tiffen filter is designed to be accurate in its effect and produce consistent results.
