3M TRIZACT BELT 237AA

3M™ Trizact® Structured Abrasive Belts Use 3M™ Trizact® structured abrasive belts for long-lasting, consistent sharpening and finishing. Unlike conventional abrasives, Trizact belts feature microscopic pyramid-shaped structures that wear evenly, continuously exposing fresh, sharp abrasive for a uniform cut and predictable results. This unique design allows for cooler cutting temperatures, reducing heat buildup and minimizing the risk of burning or discoloring the workpiece—especially important when sharpening steel knives and tools. How It Works As the structured pyramids wear down, new layers of abrasive are revealed, maintaining a consistent scratch pattern throughout the life of the belt. This results in: More uniform finishes Less frequent grit changes Extended belt life compared to traditional abrasives Available Constructions Type 237AA – Durable X-weight backing for longer life and more demanding applications Type 307EA – More flexible J-weight backing for contour work and detailed sharpening Applications & Uses Knife sharpening – ideal for achieving precise, repeatable edges Tool sharpening – chisels, blades, and cutting tools Metal finishing – refining and polishing stainless and carbon steel Intermediate to final finishing steps Key Benefits Consistent, repeatable finishes Cooler cutting reduces heat and burn risk Longer belt life vs. conventional abrasives Controlled material removal for precision work Reduced need for multiple grit steps Grit Conversion Guide A16 ≈ 1200 grit A30 ≈ 600 grit A100 ≈ 220 grit Why Choose Trizact®? Trizact belts are engineered for precision finishing and sharpening, making them the preferred choice when surface consistency, edge quality, and repeatability matter most.
